This very sentimental ring is English and is rendered in 18k gold. The word Mizpah is from the Book of Genesis and symbolized the emotional bond between people that were separated. It translates to " The Lord Watch Between Me and Thee When We Are Absent From One Another." This example is quite fine, simply designed and is fully hallmarked with a date letter for 1889, manufactured in Chester, England. It also has a maker's mark. It is a size 6 1/4 US. The patina is original and has that beautiful bloom associated with Victorian gold jewelry. Condition is excellent. Gift it to someone you love. England, 1889. |
