This antique gold ring is cleverly designed with rubies and rose diamonds that form a checkerboard motif. The rubies have a lovely hue and are accented with well cut rose diamonds. The shoulders too, have rose diamond accents so that the ring is elegant from every angle. The central panel measures 1 /2 inches across x 5/8 down. The rose diamonds are all are set in silver topped 14k gold, typical of the period. The rubies have a rich and beautiful natural variation of color. The ring measures 5 3/4 US and can be sized. It is in very good to excellent condition. One early repair to the shank visible with a loop. Classical and lovely, circa 1900. |
