| These rare earrings are Georgian, circa 1820. They are designed with translucent chalcedony in the classical elongated torpedo shape. The chalcedony is a subtle pale milky blue surmounted with beautifully rendered gold findings. The findings are textured and decorated with very fine cannettile work. The top portion of the earrings detach from the bottoms as seen in the photos. This enables the wearer to have day/night wear. The tops too, are set with matching chalcedony and are embellished with exquisite gold work. The proportions, design, and superior craftsmanship elevate these to another level. The earrings are completely original including the back to front ear wires. The earrings are in remarkable, pristine condition. The 15k gold has a rich, original patina. They are long and bold measuring 3 1/4 inches from the top wire x 1/2 inches across the bottom drop. The top section worn alone measures 7/8 inches from the top wire x 5/8 across. Rare and elegant, circa 1820 England | ||||||||||
