| This is a beautiful 15k Victorian snake ring, circa 1890. It features a snake in a coiled position with old European cut diamonds ranging from 6 pts. to 2 pts. It has a locket compartment in the back with a glass. It is marked 15k and has the makers initials of WFG. The central section is 1/2 inches x 1/2 inches. The ring measures 7 1/4. It is a simple, elegant design and it is unusual to find a coiled snake. Snake rings were popularized in England when Albert presented Queen Victoria with a snake ring, symbolizing his everlasting love. | |||||||||
