This very rare Scottish agate bracelet is circa 1860. In all the years of collecting and appreciating this art form, I have never come across a bracelet with this design. It has a large central plaque finely hand engraved and inlaid with lovely Scottish agates. The center is accented with "buttons" of silver adding dimension and visual interest. The central section also has a heart on each side inlaid with Montrose gray agates. The bracelet is composed of seven articulating sections . They too are finely engraved and inlaid with agates. The bracelet measures 7 inches in length and terminates in an integral push clasp. The central section is 1 3/4 inches across x 1/34 inches long. Each section of the bracelet is 7/8 inches in height X 3/4 inches across. The link containing the clasp has minor silver loss at the edge of the inlaid agate seen in photo #4. The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. This is truly an exceptional bracelet, rare and beautiful. Scotland, circa 1860 |
