Antique Victorian Gold Moonstone Bracelet
This antique English 9k moonstone bracelet is circa 1890. It is designed with graduated , clear blue oval moonstones that are bezel set and cut en cabachon. This very lovely, clean setting brings attention to the moonstones, not to engraving or gold work.

The color of the moonstones are shades of blue that vary as the light passes though the stone. The sheen,or play of light is called adularescence. It is that shimmer, that gives moonstones its allure. In India, it is considered holy and magical. Some view it as a lover's stone, safequarding the true joys of love. To women, it has a most feminine aura.

The stones are clear with minor inclusions upon close scrutiny. Each stone is separated by a hinge which is almost invisible to the eye, but ensures a graceful fit. It has a push clasp, also set with a moonstone, but the stone is set horizontally to quickly identify it from the others. It also retains an additional safety clasp. The bracelet measures 6 1/4 inches in length and is in very good condition. The central stone is 3/4 inches long x 3/4 inches wide. It is beautiful, and lends itself to casual or dress attire.
