This antique Scottish agate brooch is circa 1880. it is designed in a sleek horizontal design with a subtle play of color. The agates are carnelian,banded and moss. When used together they blend harmoniously, as if born to crate this motif. The central stone is a faceted citrine, also subtle in color. Most Scottish brooches were used to adorn the tartans, but brooches such as these were specifically designed for the women. There were fewer created and are rarer to find. This bow measures 3 1/4 inches across x 1 1/4 inches down. it is completely original,including the mounts and in excellent condition. Beautiful! |
