These gold and silver earrings are French, circa 1830. They are designed with clear, bright faceted pastes. The stones are set in silver, hand crimped settings. Above the large stone, is a smaller faceted paste also set in crimped mounts. Unfortunately, these tiny stones don't appear clearly in the photos. The bottom of the earrings are 18k gold, as are the wires. The silver and gold work is superb, as would be expected of French craftsmanship. The earring wires are front to back,popular in early earrings. There is a French touchmark on the gold wire. The earrings measure 6/8 inches long from the top of the wire x 1/2 inches wide. They are in excellent condition, and completely original. They are clear, bright and wonderful! |
