Georgian Garnet Heart 18th Century
This garnet brooch in the form of a heart is English, circa 1750. Fine almandine garnets are faceted at the edges, foiled back to reflect light, and set in gilt mounts. The reverse has tiny curved pockets connected with twisted wire. It gives the garnets a light, almost lace like quality. Finding jewelry from this period is rare and finding a heart motif very exciting.

It measures 2 inches down x 1 3/4 across. The rear mounts have been replaced and the clasp has a safety as well. The garnets and the patina are in excellent condition

It is a beautiful and sentimental token from the 18th century.
