| This Victorian, Scottish brooch is circa 1860. The form is rare and and quite intricate. The laborious work of a lapidary created a braid, or weaving done with agates. The departure from traditional Scottish forms are always the rarest to find. This particular form appears similar to a Scottish quaiche, or drinking vessel. The colors are vibrant and well chosen. The brooch measures 2 3/4 inches across x 1 1/2 inches down. It is completely original and in excellent condition. It is worthy of the finest collection. | |||||||
