This Scottish 9k gold bracelet is circa 1850. Beautiful in its simplicity, it is designed with a double row of agate barrels, capped in gold and alternating with square agates set in gold bezels. The gold work is superior and the mounts substantial. The bracelet terminates with a beautifully engraved 12k gold padlock. The padlock has a finely woven fabric enclosed in the original beveled glass. The agates are all original and in excellent condition with a beautiful play of color. The bracelet is in excellent condition as well with one early repair to a connecting loop. The bracelet measures 7 inches long x 1/2 wide. The majority of antique Scottish jewelry is found in silver, and finding this in gold and in fine condition is a joy. |
