This beautiful 15k,sentimental brooch is Victorian, circa 1880. It is a popular Victorian design of entwined hearts surmounted with a bow. The double witch's heart (bottom pointing to the right) was a symbolic love token of protection. There are over a carat of beautiful mine cut diamonds set in silver topped gold. The reverse has a fold down bail enabling this to also be worn as a pendant. The mounts are all original as well. It measures 6/8 inches across x 1 inch down. The condition is excellent. This is very beautiful worn on a collar, sweater or scarf. I have had a similar brooch, just once. It is always a joy to find another. |
