These are quite spectacular. They are 18k Georgian, circa 1820 and designed in the pendaloque, or teardrop shape. The work is superb from the finely textured matte gold to the polished repousse. Naturalistic themes were popular during this period, and is evident here in the use of flowers and acanthus leaves. They are designed in three articulating sections, and are beautifully proportioned to move gracefully with every turn. They measure 3 inches long x 6/8 wide. The condition is excellent and the patina rich and mellow. |
