Rare Antique Gold Scottish Agate Necklace
Finding antique Scottish jewelry that is authentic and in good condition is always a challenge. Most Scottish jewelry is found in the form of brooches, necklaces and earrings, and the vast majority in silver.

This is a 12k gold Scottish agate necklace, circa 1860. It is from my personal collection and is in excellent condition. It measures 16.5 inches and the padlock measures 1 inch x 1/2 inch. The padlock opens and closes to secure the necklace and has a beautiful bezel set moss agate in the front, and an original glass housing silk in the reverse. The links are beveled agates capped in gold and the colors of the agates are mellow and beautifully matched. It lays gracefully on the neck and is not heavy. The links are 1 inch long and approximately 1/8 inches wide.

It is a collector's dream.
