| This is a Georgian flower bouquet, circa 1800. It is an interesting design done in a monochromatic scheme. The brooch appears as almost one color and as you look closely, the fine details and colors become amazingly beautiful. There are two flowers, one done with foiled back topaz faceted stones with a central ruby. The other flower has foiled back rock crystals and a central emerald. There is another separate bud also done in topaz. Small, charming flower brooches were popular during this period of time and worn on scarfs alone, or in clusters. This particular one is extremely well designed, is all original and has a locket back as seen in the photo. It measures 1 1/2 x 1 1/2. The subtle play of color and fine gold work make this a collector's item. | ||||||||||||
