The use of these faceted crystals began as a tradition in the later part of the 17th century. In this example the crystal is very bright as the facets reflect and intensify the light. The shank is carved and there is some small remnants of black enamel. The high carat gold has a glorious patina, as expected of hand worked gold from this period. It is a size 8.5 US. It is completely original and in outstanding condition. A pleasure to sell and a privilege to own. The other rings pictured on the hand are for comparison and presently in inventory.
