This Arts and crafts period brooch is circa 1900. It has beautiful bezel set black opals with flashes of green, lavender,turquoise and blue. The alternating stones are deep blue faceted sapphires. The silver design with whip lashes,flowers and tiny silver balls are typical of the period. The reverse has interesting detailed silver work as well. It is unsigned like many of the same period. This very beautiful ring is designed with a large central cabachon moonstone surrounded by a border of faceted garnets. The moonstone is gem quality exhibiting a beautiful adularescence. The stone is clear and blue. Tiny circles of silver accent the central stone as well as the perimeter of the garnets. The ring is beautifully finished when viewed from the back as well.
