This is an exceptionally fine example of a long niello chain. Niello is the art of fusing metals into incised metal creating patterns. In these links, the pattern is subtle striping. Some of the links combine the niello with the rose gold and the total effect of the design is striking. It terminates with a niello dog clip as well as a niello spring ring.
