This Victorian ivory necklace is circa 1880. It is most unusual designed with a long ivory beaded chain suspending an ivory locket. The locket has a central carved Essex crystal of an owl. The process of creating an Essex crystal was labor intensive. Carved from the back into the crystal and delicately hand painted, the result is a realistic,dimensional detailed figure.
