These gold amethyst and natural pearl earrings are circa 1830. Formally, stud buttons, they were beautifully converted to earrings. The amethyst are a deep violet color and have a rich hue created by the foil placed below the stone. This process was done in jewelry that had stones closed in the back to the light. The foil back amethyst is surrounded by a row of natural pearls. The necklace has eight rows of cream colored natural pearls approximately 2mm. The clasp is especially lovely if worn on the side of the neck. The reverse of the clasp has the initials AC. This cut steel bracelet is circa 1830. Designed as an early cuff bracelet, it has large steel heads faceted,polished and riveted on to a brass backing. This bracelet is completely original and in excellent condition. The steel has a mellow gray hue and the brass has a beautiful, unpolished, patina.
