This is an interesting form of Scottish jewelry. It is circa 1860 and is a bow motif, obviously designed for a woman. The majority of Scottish jewelry was designed for the men to be worn on the tartans and it is always exciting to come across a form that is sentimental and geared to please the woman. This bow is wonderful in form and choice of colors. It measures 2 3/4 inches across x 1 1/4 down. The reverse has all original mounts and a secure C-clasp. It is in excellent, unrestored condition. ...click for details

The agates are all secured by both slate(under all the agates), and a sterling silver frame. The brooch measures 2 3/4 inches across x 1 inch long. This is quite a rare form of Scottish agate jewelry. Snake motifs were popular in Victorian jewelry after Albert presented Victoria with an engagement ring in the form of a snake, symbolizing his eternal love. It is however a rarity to find a snake motif in Scottish agate jewelry. This sterling brooch, circa 1880 is sleek and modern in design in spite of the fact it is over 180 years old. The agates are all inlaid and has a wonderful mix of color. It measures 3 inches wide x 2 inches long, inc ...click for details
