This Art Deco necklace is composed of twenty five beautiful labradorite beads. Labradorite was first discovered in 1770 in the Labrador Peninsular in Canada, and has been used creatively for centuries in jewelry designs. Labradorite has a unique quality that has been termed labradorescence. It describes the iridescence or play of color as light refracts the colors in the stone. The lines and imperfections are all natural characteristics of the stone and are not considered defects.

This rare Scottish brooch is circa 1860. As a collector it is increasingly difficult to find unusual and rare forms, but this is true to the description. It is so rare, that I have had only three similar forms of this design in over 20 years. The design is created by agates that are raised and faceted, alternating with inlaid agates resulting in an illusion of pleating . The agates are centered by a natural cairngorm set in a simple claw mounting and are accented by small silver cannonballs. The ...click for details

This brooch is Scottish, circa 1840. It is silver, and set with a beautiful blend of native agates. It is designed as a penannular, or "broken ring." This is an early design of a brooch with exquisite engraving, front and back. The top stone is a cairngorm which is faceted and foil back. The cabachon stones are crystals which have been foiled and the result is beautiful rose tones in varying hues. The use of foil dates centuries when the need to reflect light was addressed in stones th ...click for details

Very pretty silver marcasite bracelet, circa 1920. It is set with rose cut chalcedony stones. More unusual to find this shape as most from this era are flat cut and faceted. The stones have a beautiful purple/blue color which is beautiful as a contrast to the steel gray marcasites. It measures 6 3/4 inches long x 1/2 inches wide. and has an invisible push clasp and safety chain. The width of the sections with stones is 3/8 inches and the plain links are 5/8 inches. It is signed sterling/Germany ...click for details
