These dramatic,long Georgian earrings are circa 1830. They are 15k gold, hand engraved and set with beautiful translucent milky chalcedony. They measure a bold 3 1/4 inches long from the top of the wire x 3/4 inches across the bottom. The condition is excellent. The original ear wires have been replaced with gold wires that allow for a perfect fit. Early, period earrings such as these are so difficult to find, and these are a lovely, dramatic example.

These gold garnet earrings are Georgian, circa 1800. Designed in the round, they have beautiful almandine garnets, cut flat and finely faceted at the edges. The stones are foil back to reflect light as they are closed at the back, typical of the period. The result is a rich, ruby red color of varying hues so lovely and unique to early jewelry. The pastes are closed back and foiled. This laborious process was done to intensify the reflection of light into the stone.
