There is nothing quite like Georgian paste earrings. These earrings, circa 1830 have bright white pastes set in silver hand crimped, rub over collets. The pastes are foiled and bright. They have a central tiny black dot, used to simulate the culate of a diamond which is often associated with the finest paste jewelery. The beautiful stones have glints of honey as they move in the light. This is the beautiful hue created by the foil. ...click for details

Finding antique earrings as lovely as these is always a joy. They are Georgian, and designed as cascading leaves terminating with a flower head. The silver detail, as expected of this period, is finely rendered. The millegrain work on the front and the smooth silver work on the back are earmarks of a skilled craftsman. These are especially beautiful as each paste has been foiled and hand set in rub over crimped collets. The use of foil beneath the stone was used because the back of the stones we ...click for details

These moonstone earrings are Victorian, circa 1890. The moonstones are cut en cabachon and capture that beautiful sheen known as adularescence. This magical glow has flashes of blue and white. Unlike the modern "rainbow moonstones" these are clear and shimmer with light. Set around the central moonstone and around the perimeter are tiny beautifully cut rose diamonds. These are not only a fine detail, but add an extra glimmer of light. ...click for details

The pictures truly speak volumes as this Scottish brooch is so very rare and an architectural gem. Designed and executed with superlative skill, it is circa 1860.

I love the modern, clean design and the subtle choice of colors. It has a sense of movement and yet has restraint.

It measures 2 3/4 inches across X 1 1/2 inches down. It would b ...click for details

This beautiful English, Victorian silver, cuff bracelet has the date letter for 1884. I have had several fine pieces of jewelry from the Aesthetic Movement, but this is the first with a buckle motif.

This design period, called the Aesthetic Movement had it origins when a peace agreement with Japan was fostered by Commodore Perry in 1854. The arts of Japan were now open to the eyes of the world. The art of mixed metal ...click for details
