This bold and finely executed brooch is Scottish, circa 1880. It is sterling that has been beautifully hand engraved. The agates are a blend of Montrose gray,bloodstone and jasper, all very traditional colors. The citrines are faceted in the shape of a thistle, the national flower of Scotland. The brooch is a stylized dirk. A dirk is a weapon and the Scots used the form to create jewelry to adorn the tartans and secure the kilts. The central cairngorm is beautifully faceted, clear and bright held by a scalloped claw mount. This antique Scottish agate bracelet is circa 1880. It is a rare form designed with alternating links of agates with those that are engraved. The agate links are set with opposing curved, cabachon agates all inlaid and divided with a thin silver band. These lovely earrings are Victorian, circa 1860. They are made of gutta percha, and 14k gold. The use of gold and gutta percha is more and unusual and rarer to find. They are finely made, and the gold engraved and detailed. They are light on the ears and have pleasing movement, terminating with a gold ball. They measure 1 1/2 inches from the top of the wire x 9/10 across. They are completely original and in excellent condition.

Very pretty silver marcasite bracelet, circa 1920. It is set with rose cut chalcedony stones. More unusual to find this shape as most from this era are flat cut and faceted. The stones have a beautiful purple/blue color which is beautiful as a contrast to the steel gray marcasites. These gold amethyst and natural pearl earrings are circa 1830. Formally, stud buttons, they were beautifully converted to earrings. The amethyst are a deep violet color and have a rich hue created by the foil placed below the stone. This process was done in jewelry that had stones closed in the back to the light. This 15k Georgian diamond and amethyst ring is circa 1800. It has a central, faceted foil back amethyst flanked by four rose diamonds. The amethyst is a rich violet measuring 9mm x 5 mm. The rose diamonds, set in silver have a champagne color and are foil back. They have typical imperfections found in gems of this period which are visible with a loop.
