These earrings are circa 1860 and are certainly among the best I have sold. The are designed in three section, with each articulating. They are completely original and retain the rich 15k yellow gold patina that cannot be duplicated. The naturalistic form has cascading buds of aqua and encircled with leaves of gold. The gold work is superior with fine detailing and granulation. The central section is also interesting that when viewed from an angle it is evident that the gold was beautifully mold ...click for details

This is a Georgian flower bouquet, circa 1800. It is an interesting design done in a monochromatic scheme. The brooch appears as almost one color and as you look closely, the fine details and colors become amazingly beautiful. There are two flowers, one done with foiled back topaz faceted stones with a central ruby. The other flower has foiled back rock crystals and a central emerald. There is another separate bud also done in topaz. Small, charming flower brooches were popular during this perio ...click for details

This is a rare sterling Scottish brooch, circa 1860 . It is not rare in theme, being a loveknot, but in its design. It has the celtic knot symbolizing everlasting love, a popular theme, but the use of the agates make it most unusual. The appearance is a weave achieved by the blend of the agates. It is a trick of the eye and the illusion was expertly orchestrated. Each agate having mellow shading is inlaid and chosen precisely to achieve the affect of the weave. It measures 2 1/2 inches across x ...click for details

The putti measures 2 inches across x 7/8 at the widest point. The central carving is surrounded by a garden of roses and leaves. The entire composition was then "framed" in a carved swirling pattern. Rarely do I find a pin which I can call a work of art. This small French brooch is like a framed picture, designed with a perfectly cut double rose diamond surround, and a central plaque of guilloche blue enamel. The center is a flower and leaves all with beautiful rose diamonds. The reverse is beautifully finished with engraved flowers as if the artist wanted everything to be a signature of his efforts. It is 18k and silver topped, circa 1890. It measures 1 inch x 3/4 inches and the condition i ...click for details

This 15k Georgian brooch is circa 1820. It has beautiful pale almondine garnets which have been faceted and foiled back. Stones at this period of time were typically closed in the back and the use of foil gave the stones a mellow color which varied shades according to the reflection of light. These garnets are all set in rose gold crimped, cut-down collets. The reverse is finely done with curved gold surrounding each stone, and all original mounts. It measures 1 3/8 x 1 3/8. This is one of the best antique cuff bracelets I have offered for sale. It is circa 1860 and has both a wonderful concept of design and execution. This period of design is called the Aesthetic Movement, which had its origins in the trade agreement with Japan in 1854. The Japanese naturalistic designs and use of mixed metals brought great interest.

This English cuff is a fine example of the movement. It is finishe ...click for details
