These gold and silver earrings are French, circa 1830. They are designed with clear, bright faceted pastes. The stones are set in silver, hand crimped settings. Above the large stone, is a smaller faceted paste also set in crimped mounts. Unfortunately, these tiny stones don't appear clearly in the photos. This garnet brooch in the form of a heart is English,circa 1750. Fine almandine garnets are faceted at the edges, foiled back to reflect light, and set in gilt mounts. The reverse has tiny curved pockets connected with twisted wire. It gives the garnets a light, almost lace like quality. Finding jewelry from this period is rare and finding a heart motif very exciting.

This is a La Paglia sterling necklace and bracelet. La Paglia was an accomplished silversmith who was hired by the U.S. division of Georg Jensen. During WWII, it was difficult continuously stocking the store with Danish silver. American silversmiths including La Paglia were then employed. Lovely antique silver moonstone bracelet, circa 1910. It has three large, clear cabachon moonstones with great adularescence and flashes of blue. Set in sterling, it has white and sapphire colored pastes alternating with the moonstones. The silver work is superior with decorative millegrain accents. This Victorian, Scottish brooch is circa 1860. The form is rare and and quite intricate. The laborious work of a lapidary created a braid, or weaving done with agates. The departure from traditional Scottish forms are always the rarest to find. This particular form appears similar to a Scottish quaiche, or drinking vessel. The colors are vibrant and well chosen. This 15k Georgian garnet brooch is circa 1820. It is rarer in form having a beautiful vitreous enamel panel topped with a gold collet set garnet. The perimeter of the brooch has foiled back flat cut garnets with faceted edges. The garnets are almondine with a beautiful hue, and set in hand crimped gold mounts. Lovely antique English sovereign case and long guard chain, circa 1890. It is made of gun metal, an alloy of copper and tin popular at the turn of the 19th century having a mellow gray patina. The case was used for carrying full or half gold sovereigns. The coins could be stacked in the holder by a spring mechanism and could hold several at a time.
