This is one of my favorite forms of antique jewelry since it is strikingly modern in design yet over 140 years old. It is called a penannular, or broken ring, and is in sterling set with with beautiful agates. The circle of agates move and allows the pin to be brought through the opening and be secured to the garment. The agates are a beautiful mellow combination of color and are completely original. The top thistle is a carved amethyst and the other stones are crystals which are foiled back and ...click for details

This wonderful pendant is Georgian, circa 1820. It is a Maltese cross of high Karat gold made of fine cannetille. This form of work used very fine gold wires creating rosettes and vines. The cross is of the highest quality and has a rich patina. The central section has a flower motif created with natural pearls and a central emerald. The surrounding area has rich textured gold finish and the reverse has a locket with finely braided hair. The four sections of the cross are of translucent chalced ...click for details

This wonderful pin is by Mary Gage, an American Arts and Crafts silversmith. She worked in Greenwich Village during the 1940's and was quite prolific during her long lifetime. Her work was quite distinctive and reflected her travels to the Orient. This pin is typical of her work and features a cabachon rock crystal surrounded by water lilies. The reverse has her trademark twists of silver creating a distinctive back. The pin is in excellent, all original condition. It measures 2 inches round ...click for details

This lovely ring is Georgian, circa 1800. It is silver topped rose gold, typical of the period. Diamonds were set in silver more pleasing in appearance and backed in gold so no tarnish would be a problem in contact with the skin or clothing. There are thirteen diamonds, twelve are flat cut and the central diamond a rose cut. All are set in crimped rub-over settings with tiny dots of silver giving additional distinctive texture. It is more unusual to find the stones open to the light during this ...click for details

Antique moonstone necklaces are prized for the clarity and glorious sheen of blue and are easily distinguished from their modern counterparts. This gold necklace is circa 1900, and has well matched, gem quality cabachon stones. The gold content varies between 9k-12k gold. The design which is quite feminine, was very popular at the turn of the century. The details, like the tiny buttons of gold interspersed between the top row of stones, and the fine variation of chains, make this a lovely exampl ...click for details

This ring is quite beautiful. It is a consignment ring from a customer who no longer can wear it. Fashioned as a Georgian ring, it has a beautiful gold hand chased shank. The stones spell "ADORE", Amethyst,Diamond, Opal,Ruby, and Emerald. This form of jewelry is called acrostic where the initial letters of the stones spell a hidden message. All the stones are foiled back with hand crimped settings, true to the Georgian period of design. The rose cut diamond is a beautiful champagne col ...click for details
