As I list this pin, I can honestly state it is only the second of this design I have had the pleasure to sell. It is Scottish, circa 1880 and among the finest I have owned. It is designed as a Celtic knot utilizing agates cut and finely inlaid in silver. The striated agates create a sense of movement in keeping with the sweep of the design. The brooch is modern in its simplicity, and is completely original including the mounts. The condition is pristine. It measures 2 1/2 inches across x 1 3/8 ...click for details

It is surmounted by a gold crown set with pearls, two faceted rubies and four faceted emeralds. The gold is hand engraved and decorated with fleur de lys. Antique Scottish jewelry abounds in traditional, ceremonial forms which have been used for centuries. Worn on the tartans, the jewelry is strikingly beautiful and unique in design.

This brooch is considered a figural, one that was designed for the women, not for the traditional tartans worn by the men. Therefore, there were fewer made and finding one is always a pleasure. ...click for details

These are quite spectacular both for rarity and for condition. They are Georgian, circa 1800 and designed with beautiful, clear black dot pastes. Black dot was used to simulate the culet of a diamond and is found in the finest paste jewels. These are not converted from buttons, but all original including the gold, back to front mounts. The pastes are all foil back and set in silver crimped, rub over settings. The craftsmanship is superb and the pastes reflective and brilliant. Finding early earri ...click for details

These 18k gold earrings are English, circa 1850. Fine cannettille work on the earrings create a lacey feminine look. Cannetille is the term used to describe the use of gold wires twisted and turned to create patterns. The process is laborious and requires great skill. These dramatic, long earrings measure 2 7/8 long x 7/8 across. They articulate gracefully, and the bow is a very feminine touch. These are strikingly beautiful and have a rich patina. They are in excellent condition.
