This is a 9k gold Scottish pin circa 1880. It has inlaid bloodstone and jasper agates, and very detailed, beautiful engraving work. The jasper was first cut in sections and then inlaid into the gold. The bloodstone was cut and shaped by a lapidary into a pyramid type formation. This is very difficult, time consuming work that requires a skilled craftsman. The central stone is a cairngorm, mined in the Cairngorm mountain range in Scotland. The brooch has three sections that were individually de ...click for details

This snake brooch is circa 1890 and is crafted in 18k gold and sterling. There are touchmarks for both silver and gold a, as well as a maker's mark. It is interesting to note that this pin has a sterling front and an 18k back. The maker evidently believed that the use of silver in the front, created a more realistic rendering. It has substantial weight of 12 dwt. and is all original. The clasp is extremely secure and the condition excellent. It measures 1 7/8th inches across x 1 1/4 inches ...click for details

This was purchased in Paris and is quite lovely. It is circa 1900 and is in gun metal. I have had long guard chains and lockets in gun metal, but this is a first in this design. It has seven torpedo shaped drops hanging from spiral motifs. The necklace measures 16 1/2 inches. It is completely original, in excellent condition and has an S-closure.

This antique ivory brooch is very beautiful. This circa 1880 rose is very realistically detailed, right down to the thorns on the stem. The rose has multiple layers and is done in high relief. It measures 2 1/4 inches across x 1 3/4 down. The depth is 1 1/4 inches. The rear has a typical 19th century C-clasp. I can see no damages, or repairs. This is truly wonderful. I will be listing several other 19thC ivory items.

This necklace is 19th century Austrian. It is silver and features deep orange corals contrasted with two rows of blood red coral. The silver work is sophisticated and the corals are all bezel set. It lays gracefully on the neck since each section moves freely, connected by one end of each section. The clasp is marked for silver and a maker's mark. The necklace is beautiful on the reverse as well, showing fine craftsmanship. It measures approx. 17 3/4 inches long by 3/8 inches wide. Links can ...click for details

This is the earliest Scottish pin I have offered for sale. It is 18k and circa 1830. It is quite incredible in design and condition. It has a central bouquet of natural pearls and faceted crystals which form the thistle flowers. There are faceted citrines and amethysts which circle the flowers. Tiny floral rosettes made of gold alternate between the stones. The edge of the brooch is scalloped. The gold detailing is of the very finest level. It is beautiful in conception and brilliant in executio ...click for details

This is a very fine example of Scottish artistry. It is circa 1850 and is designed with six individual sections of multiple agates that are cut, polished and placed on slate. The agate sections are secured by sterling mounts. It is a work of great skill and is a form of folk art. The closure is an agate heart with a beveled glass heart on the reverse side. It measures 7 1/2 inches long X 3/4 inches wide. The condition is excellent and the beauty amazing.

This is a great set. It is by the Danish silversmith N.E. From and is his most sought after design. It features a "globe" of amber with a circle of silver fish and stars. The amber is off-center and reflects the light passing through. The pin measures 1 3/4 inches. The earrings measure 1 inch and are clip backs. They are very comfortable on the ear. It is difficult to find a set and this one is in great condition. The pin and earrings are both signed.
